Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 12, 2026

At Mentorr, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Mentorr you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account data — name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Profile data — role, industry, years of experience, skills, interests, goals, career direction, and mission statement that you enter during onboarding or profile editing.
  • Preferences — mentorship style, work style, feedback preference, availability, and other compatibility data used by our Synergy Match algorithm.
  • Communications — messages, notes, and feedback you send through the platform.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, session length, and interaction patterns.
  • Device data — browser type, operating system, IP address, and timezone.
  • Cookies — session and authentication cookies necessary to keep you signed in. See Section 6 for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Matching — your profile and preference data powers the Synergy Match algorithm to surface compatible mentors and mentees.
  • Platform operations — authenticating your account, providing features, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Communications — sending transactional emails (e.g., password reset, match notifications) and, where you opt in, product updates.
  • Safety and compliance — detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Improvement — analysing anonymised and aggregated usage trends to improve the platform.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these limited circumstances:

  • Other users — your public profile (name, role, industry, skills, bio) is visible to other Mentorr users for matching purposes. Sensitive data such as your email and password is never shared.
  • Service providers — we use Supabase for authentication and database services, bound by data processing agreements.
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
  • Business transfers — if Mentorr is acquired or merges with another organisation, your data may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before this occurs.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer or where it is necessary to resolve disputes or enforce agreements.

5. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — update inaccurate or incomplete data through your profile settings at any time.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data.
  • Portability — request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to certain processing activities, including direct marketing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@mentorr.io. We will respond within 30 days.
